What are the appropriate adapter for your laptop

Power adapter for Intel-based Apple laptops are available in 45W, 60W and 85W. While you should always use the proper wattage adapter for your Macbook, you can also use a higher wattage without any issues.

For example if you have a MacBook (13-inch Late 2009), which typically use a 60W adapter, you also can use a 85W adapter with the computer. But you will not be able to use 45W on the computer as it will not provide enough power to the MacBook.

Using the wrong adapter can damage your laptop

Each laptop has different voltage. Not all laptop has the same voltage or amperage. For a small laptop, the lesser voltage capacity are needed and for bigger laptop the greater the voltage capacity are needed.

This is due to each component that resides in a laptop that has a voltage level that has been devoted. If it is supplied with voltage and electric current that exceed the limit, it will damage your laptop. If less distribute voltage and electric current your laptop will not function.

- It will damaged your laptop LCD / LED screen
- It will damaged your motherboard chipset
